VICTOR CHARLES (VIC) SOUTHALL 1919 - 2008 On June 6, 2008, Vic passed away peacefully at the Poseidon Personal Care Centre at the age of 88. Vic was predeceased by his parents Walter and Dora; wife Phyllis; son Walter Edward (Wes); brothers, Gordon, Thomas; sisters, Gladys, Ivy and lifelong friend and companion Audrey Orange (Williams). Left to mourn is daughter Edith (John); sons, Ronald (Beverley) and Kenneth; daughter-in-law Georgina; grandchildren, Kara, Trevor, Jennifer, Heather, Daniel, Christopher, Vanessa, Brandon and Keegan; great-grandchildren, Jack, Ava; and brother James. Vic was born and raised in Winnipeg, served 21 years with the army, first as a member of the RCR during the Second World War and after the war, with the Winnipeg Rifles and Saskatoon Light Infantry. He then served another 20 years as a federal civil servant. Vic loved to Square Dance, and was a Caller for many years; he also enjoyed fishing, camping, bird watching, stamp collecting and was an active member of the Legion. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Prince Edward Branch 81, 300 Trent Avenue, East Kildonan. Vic - Gone Fishin'
