DORIS ALBERTA JANET SINCLAIR (nee BATEMAN) It is with heavy hearts and wonderful memories that we announce the passing of Doris Alberta Janet (Bateman) Sinclair on November 5, 2008. Doris was a loving wife to Lloyd (Scotty) for 63 years; and mother of Margaret, David (Barbara), Leslie (Wayne), Susan (Brian), and Heather (Jon). Doris was also treasured by her grandchildren, Nicole (Garry), Dylan, Scott, Hayley, Wendy (Shaun), Elizabeth, and Veronica; great-grandson Morgan; and niece Lois. Doris was predeceased by her daughter Margaret, great-grandson Niall-David, her sister Audrey, brother-in-law Jim, and niece Marjorie. Doris was a youthful 84 year-old: active with golf, bowling, curling, knitting, playing bridge, and winning Trivial Pursuit family game nights. As leader of the Ma Golf team, she relished victories over the Pa team. She enjoyed sewing and created truly imaginative skating, dancing and Hallowe'en costumes, and Barbie clothes. Doris and Scotty traveled to Europe, wintered in the southern States, and cruised the Caribbean. Her most cherished memories were of family gatherings. Her dignity, thoughtfulness, and consideration for others are inspiring traits we can only hope to emulate. Respecting Doris's wishes, a private family service will be held.
