JOHN WILDER HUNTER It is with great sadness we announce that John (Jack) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Golden Door Geriatric Centre. He was 88 years of age. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean, children Douglas (Pat) and Janice (Barry), grandchildren Jason (Tracy), Caroline (Anthony), Kira (Darryl) and Katherine and great-granddaughter Ashley. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Charlotte, brother Edwin and sister Dorothy. John had a long career in law enforcements: initially as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, then with the Royal Canadian Navy, followed by many years with the Canadian Pacific Railroad and finally with the Attorney General's Department, Province of Manitoba. John loved his family above all else. He was so proud of each and every one and all their accomplishments. John never lost the sense of wonder and joy that came from the child within him. He was a truly gentle and loving soul who took delight in every encounter with family, friends, and caregivers. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. Special thanks to the staff of the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the loving compassionate care given to Dad. A funeral service was held on October 31 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home.
