Together they made their happy home and raised three children. Predeceased by her husband George Allan in 2005, parents Ernest and Florence McKnight, sisters Grace Clearwater, Jean Coleman, Myrtle Alder and infant twin grand-daughters Cheryl and Cynthia Barrett. Mom was faithful to her church, Calvary Temple, for many years and if you opened up any of the Bibles in her home you would find handwritten scripture verses and notes that she meditated on. She loved knitting, gardening, entertaining as well as times spent with family. She especially loved their cabin at Manhattan Beach Camp. A visit, no matter short or long, always involved a pot of tea, cookies or cakes, and great conversation. Her greatest passion was her role as a mother grandmother, and she was very proud of her children and grand-children, reveling in their accomplishments. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre-Palliative Care Unit for their kind and compassionate care, and a special thanks to Dr. Brian Sharkey for his many years of supportive care. A service will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Red Rock Youth Camp c/o Calvary Temple or Faith to Live By.
