GIUSEPPE BATTAGLIA (JOSEPH) September 16, 1937 - November 5, 2008 Giuseppe Battaglia, aged 71 years old, who was born in Italy. He is beloved husband of Carroll Battaglia and father Caterina Battaglia, son-in-law Chester Schulz, and grandfather to Samantha and Frank Volovich. Predeceased by his son Francesco Battaglia on May 20, 1997, mother Caterina (Tascona) Battaglia on March 21, 1943, Termini Imerese, Pallmero, Sicily, Italy, father Fransesco Battaglia on January 15, 1997 Winnipeg, MB. To cherish his memory are sister-in-law Pearl Linklater and family, brother-in-law Siguard O. Hammer and family, also several nieces and nephews, cousins, and also Aunt Lucy Bombolo and family. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2008 at St. Joseph The Worker, 505 Brewster Street with Father Jan Spyrka officiating. Pallbearers are Greg Linklater, Chester Schulz, Ken Curruthers, Aldo Cippola, Reg Branconier and Marshal Butterfield. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. The family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses.
