Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER SAJ June 27, 1953 November 6, 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Saj at the Concordia Hospital, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his mother Anne, and father Dmytro. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 27 years, Leona, and sons Matthew and Thomas. Also mourning his loss are his nine siblings: Raymond (Judy), Edward, Daniel, Marvin, Andre (Cheryl), Julian, Lucy Cabel (Peter), Boris, and John; brothers-in-law: Tom (Tannis), Jim (Linda), and sister-in-law Shirley. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends. Walter was born in Fort William, Ontario. In the early 1970's he moved to Winnipeg, where he attended Miles MacDonell Collegiate. He graduated from Red River College as a Design and Drafting Technologist, and in 1978 was employed with the City of Winnipeg, Plan Examination Branch, where he worked for 30 years, until his retirement earlier this year. In 1977 Walter met Leona Jestadt, the love of his life, and they married in 1981. He was a loving husband and devoted father to their two beautiful sons, always putting family needs first. Walter loved woodworking, designing (and re-designing) his yard, winemaking and entertaining, and he was so looking forward to enjoying his retirement. He was a real character with a unique sense of humour. He loved getting together with his best bud Hank, and the Thunder Bay gang. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered by all. Many thanks to the staff in the ICU at Concordia Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6, or to the charity of your choice. We love you, Wal. Arrangements entrusted to: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Send expressions of sympathy at www.mem.com.
