MARILYN JEANNETTE BURGOYNE (nee KLATT) AKA NAN Peacefully on November 6, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer with family at her side, mom went home to be with Terry, her husband of 41 years Mom was also predeceased by her mother Myrtle, father Walter, sisters Leah, Myrna and brother Ray. Mom is survived by her three daughters; Wendy Penner (Richard) of Winnipeg, Cindy Alexander (Gary) of Clandeboye and Mindy Brown (Kevin) of Lorette. Mom also leaves to mourn her passing her number one grandson Terry, and 5 granddaughters, Jocelyn, Keira, Eva, Trinity and Allison as well as her brother Doug Klatt (Gertrude) of Beaconia, her sister Alison Fletcher of Folkstone England and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mom loved her girls but she adored her grandchildren, going to grandparents day at the nursery schools and skating competitions were some of the highlights of being Nan. Moms true love was her family, mom stayed at home and raised her girls until they were old enough to be left on their own after school. Mom worked at Gibson Labels then went on to work at Vita Health for many years using her artistic abilities to design labels. Mom and Dad moved from Winnipeg to Petersfield in 1995 where mom enjoyed painting the many toys and birdhouses that dad would make. Mom and dad enjoyed each others company and loved each other with all there hearts but there was one other thing that Mom loved almost as much as her husband, children and grandchildren and that was BINGO. Mom was always a fan of the game bingo and after dad passed away, Mom moved to town and found that going to bingo helped pass the time. Mom would go out five or six times a week and would call us if she had a win however big or small, she just enjoyed the game. Going to the many bingo halls mom rapidly made many new friends and a new lease on life, traveling to Cuba this winter with a bunch of girlfriends was certainly a thrill for her. Mom has missed dad for the last four and a half years, we can now all go forward knowing that they are once again a couple. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Moms honor in St. Georges Wakefield Anglican Church just North of Clandeboye on November 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with the Ven. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Special thank you to the homecare staff that helped to make mom comfortable while she was at home. Joc, Nan wanted to say thank you for giving up an hour of your day everyday to come and sit and watch Ellen with her and share a laugh she really did appreciate the time she spent with you. To the friends and relatives that dropped by Mom enjoyed your company and we appreciated the support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Palliative Care, Selkirk General Hospital 100 Easton Drive Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2. Good bye Nan we love you and will miss you dearly. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
