GEORGE LEE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Lee, suddenly on November 7, 2008 at Stonewall Hospital. Survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Julia, and children Joanne and Gary (Pam and Wes, Jessica, Stephanie, Eugene and Silvana, Robert), Chuck and Marian (Christine, James), David and Darlene (Terri, Korey, Angela, Steven). George is also survived by his sisters Hazel, Pearl and Edna, numerous nieces and nephews, and many very dear friends. George was predeceased by brothers Ted and Stan, sisters Marjorie and Winnie. George was born in Avonlee Saskatchewan on January 19, 1924. A few years later George and his family moved to Gunton, Manitoba. This is where George grew up and met his wife of 61 years. Julia and George made Gunton their first home. They would have their first two children Joanne and Chuck. As time passed, George gained employment at Armco Canada and soon after to moved his family to the big city of Winnipeg. George and Julie lived in the city for eight years. George still having the country, in his blood found the means to move to his present dwelling of 50 years in Stony Mountain. This is where his third son David was born. George became active in the Legion, Masons and Curling Club and remained active until his passing. George will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His warm heart and comforting hand will be deeply missed by all. Forever Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Good Friend. A very special thank you to dear friend Shirley, the Stonewall RCMP, paramedics and Stonewall Hospital staff. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Stony Mountain United Church. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
