MAURICE LANNOO With his family at his bedside, it is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father, Maurice Lannoo. He will be deeply missed by his wife Joan; son Brent (Martha), daughter Colleen Bayne (Cam), daughter Laurie McCaughan (Louis), son Jeff (Chris), son Ian (Charlene), Darren (Laura) and his grandchildren, Brianne, Chelsea, Jolene, Eryk, Coltin, Michaela, Noah, Isabella and Tyra. Step-grandchildren, Tyler and Jan; mother Suzanne, sister, Cecille Dreger (Ernie); brothers-in-law, Bill Clement (Debbie), John and sisters-in-law, Gerrie Bannatyne (Bob), Jill Paskewitz (Greg); numerous nieces and nephews. Maurice was predeceased by his father Edmond; sisters, Lorraine Caron, Bernice Ashton and brother-in-law Raymond Caron and mother and father-in-law, Gytha and Ralph Clement. Maurice was born at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on May 15, 1931. He had resided in Charleswood/Headingley all of his life. In 1958 he married his partner and best friend, Joan (Clement). Together they had six children. Throughout his life Maurice farmed and operated his business, Lannoo Trucking. Moe had many friends and acquaintances. Anyone who knew him was usually touched by his kindness and his willingness to always give a helping hand. He continued to look out for his elderly mother Suzanne. Maurice was a hard worker and that's what he knew. His favorite pastimes included fishing getaways with family and friends. He was extremely well known for his passion for cribbage, anywhere, anytime. He loved his Bomber and hockey games. He had a special place in his heart for all of the dogs that he raised over the years. Moe was a volunteer firefighter in Charleswood for 17 years, member of the Charleswood Legion, the Charleswood Historical Society and St. Charles Parish. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care and compassion that Maurice received from the doctors and nurses of the ICU at Grace Hospital, during his brief stay. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, MS Society or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Blessed John XXIII, 3390 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. Fifteen Two, Fifteen Four, there will be no more.
