VERA LOUISE BYQUIST July 1, 1924 November 7, 2008 Vera passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Jocelyn House, at the age of 84 years. Vera was predeceased by her parents Carl and Hazel, and her brother Graydon. Left to mourn are her sons, Rick (Janis) and Wayne, her grandchildren, Jana (Graham), Steven (Denise), Duncan (Angie) and Christopher. She is also survived by her sisters, Lillian, Alva and Esther (John), sisters-in-law, Helga and Chris, numerous nieces and nephews and great-grandchildren. Vera was born in Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan on July 1, 1924. For 17 years she was the owner and co-operator, with her sister Esther, of the Blue Willow Coffee Shop in the Boyd Building. Vera's favorite pastimes were walking her dogs, gardening and conversations with her friends and neighbours. Vera was a lover of the arts; she was a season ticket holder of both the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Manitoba Opera for many years. Her family would personally like to thank the staff and volunteers of Jocelyn House for making her final days comfortable and meaningful. A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Anglican Church, 253 Burrin Ave. You are invited to make a donation in Vera's memory to Jocelyn House Inc., 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7. We will always love you, and you will always be with us.
