ALEXANDER (AL) ALBERT DOWIE July 6, 1933 - November 8, 2008 With family by his side, Al passed peacefully Saturday evening at Deer Lodge Centre. He will be greatly missed by wife Bernice, son Bill, daughter Donna (Dennis), granddaughter Amara, brother Noel (Laura), sister Sandra (Ross), sisters-in-law Anne and Olga, cousins, nieces, nephews, and goddaughter Jacqueline. Al was predeceased by brother Louis and nieces Kimberly and Maureen. The family would like to recognize the wonderful care provided by all staff at Deer Lodge Centre. Al was the consummate salesman and touched thousands of Winnipeg customers over his 50 year career in the car and truck industry, working for Ford Mercury dealerships such as Wiley, Crossroads, and Landau. You may have seen Al practicing his golf swing at Blumberg and walking the edge of the course finding your errant golf balls. His snooker friends at Royal Canadian Legion No. 4 will miss him. Funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Flowers graciously declined, however donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 will be gratefully accepted.
