WILFRED (WILF) GUSTYS January 13, 1947 - November 10, 2008 It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family of Wilf Gustys announces his sudden passing on Monday November 10, 2008 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Wilf was predeceased by his father Frank, brother Danny, and mom Stefie. He leaves to cherish his memory and will be greatly missed by his beloved soul mate and love of his life, wife Bev, his daughter Stephanie Gustys of Halifax, NS, extended family Lara-Lea (Dale) Avery, Chris (Cara-Lee) Allwood, grandchildren Austin and Sierra-Lynne Allwood, Riley and Steffanie Avery, sister Gertie (John) Lahaie, niece Lisa (Dave) Dunn and their children Lily and Owen of Halifax, NS, niece Carol Lahaie, as well as Phyllis Baker of Gimli, Manitoba, Pat (Allan) Gee and family of Coquitlam, BC, and numerous good friends. Wilf was a master seaman who proudly served with the Canadian Navy for 28 years. He most recently worked for the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires at CancerCare Manitoba. His enjoyment in life was his music, movies, and books for which he was an avid collector, often able to quote lines from his favourites. In the summer, he looked forward to driving his white Cadillac to Falcon Lake and spending time on his Party Barge' with family and friends. He also enjoyed his trips to Halifax, Kenora, and his shopping trips with Bev to Fargo and Grand Forks. He was a kind, loving man with a wonderful sense of humour, had a generous heart and was always willing to help others. He will always be remembered and sadly missed by all that knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface General Hospital Emergency for their kindness and care. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
