ALMA (PORTER) WHITESIDE Alma passed away peacefully on November 10, 2008, just hours shy of her 89th birthday. Predeceased by her husband Thomas James Whiteside and her brother Cecil Porter, she is survived by her two sons and their families: Ken and Gale: Jay and Kimberly (Payton); Kathleen; and Roy and Judy: Tricia and Dave Young (Cody, Brooke and Kyle); Randy and Tara (Aiden); Wendy Hoffman (Michael, Mitchell and Daniel); Carol and Ron Morrison (Chris, Molly and Amanda). Mom was a Weston girl who married her sweetheart and raised their family in the West End. Mom was beloved for her quiet loving manner and her great baking - she was our cookie grandma. Mom loved sports and was always there to cheer her grandchildren on or watch a good game on T.V. But come cottage season, you could always find her at Caddy sharing the good times with her family and all the Welsh's next door. According to her wishes Mom's ashes will be laid to rest by her family. No funeral service will be held. No flowers please. Should you wish, donations may be made to a charity of your own choice.
