Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE IRENE PARKINSON Beloved widow of Roland Parkinson passed away on November 13, 2008 at Golden West Centennial Lodge. She was born October 26, 1908 at Elm Creek, Manitoba, the eldest daughter of George A. and Mabel Laing. She was a graduate nurse from affiliated hospitals, Port Simpson and Vancouver General, B.C. Alice worked at her profession in Saskatchewan, Minnesota, New York and New Brunswick until 1939, when she married Roland (Parky). Their home was in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Besides her husband and parents Alice was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd and Charles Laing and sister Lois Wynne all of Elm Creek. Surviving is her son Alan, brother Max (Winnie), also several nieces and nephews. There will be a service for family and close friends on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Flowers gratefully declined. One of Alice's favorite Bible verses was Isiah 41-10th verse; Fear thou not, for I am with thee, Be not dismayed for I am thy God, I will strengthen thee, yea I will help thee, yea I will uphold thee with the right arm of my righteousness.
