Date of Passing: Nov 06, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLOTTE SIMPSON (ROSS) It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Charlotte, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on November 6, 2008 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 88 with her family at her side. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Jim, in September of 2000. She was also predeceased by her brother Bill and her sisters Frances, Jean and Betty. Mum will be missed by daughter Margaret and Bill Mitchell, granddaughter Laurie and Al Nielsen and great-grandchildren Jamie and Alex of Yellowknife, NWT and granddaughter Kerry and fiancé Glenn Gamble of Winnipeg and daughter Jane and Don Manson and grandchildren James of Vancouver and Jennifer of Winnipeg. Charlotte was born in Saskatchewan but spent most of her years in Winnipeg, raising her family in the Riverview area of the city. In later years she and Jim moved to St. James where they enjoyed golf and were involved in several bridge groups. Their winters were enjoyed in Florida for many years. Family was very important to Mum and she remained close to us throughout her life. For the last 5 years, Mum has lived at Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts on Ness Avenue. The staff and residents have made her last years very happy. Our sincere thanks to Heather, Debbie and Sue and all the girls that have given so much love and assistance. Our sincere thanks also to the doctors, nurses and all the caregivers at the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Unit for their compassion in making her last few weeks as comfortable as possible. Cremation has already taken place and as was Mum's wish, a private family interment will take place. If friends wish, donations can be made in Charlotte's memory to the Manitoba Division of the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook or to the Grace Hospital Foundation. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
