LORNA ELEANOR ZACHARIAS (nee Kirkness) November 1, 1929 - November 3, 2008 After a lengthy illness, died peacefully at Concordia Hospital, with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Miles and Sara Kirkness, two brothers, two sisters, grandparents, James and Maria Kirkness, Thomas and Barbara Cochrane, a baby great-grandson and brother-in-law Lawson Spence. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Karatchuk (Bill) and Verna Spence. She will be remembered by her Auntie Annie Kirkness, only niece June Montour (Bruce), nephews and their families, also many cousins and friends. Lorna was born in Fisher River (Koostatak, MB) and attended school there, then Brandon Residential School. She went to work at All Saints Nursing Home, and later on was employed with the Sanitarium Board of Manitoba, as a receptionist for Dr. Kernahan. She married, and retired from there to be a stay at home Mom to take care of their two little boys. Funeral service took place on November 10, in Winnipeg. Dear sister, sister-in-law and Aunt, we are all sad and find it very hard to believe you are truly gone. But, God took you home to suffer no more. Good-bye .... You will be missed.
