GIUSEPPE (JOE) BERARDI

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGIUSEPPE (JOE) BERARDI It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Giuseppe Berardi on November 13, 2008 at Jocelyn House at the age of 85 years. Joe is survived by his daughters Linda (Tony) Lizzi and Maria Berardi; grandchildren: Joe, Dina (Brian), Nick, Jason (Megan), Peter (Sarah), Monica and Carlo; great-grandchildren: Luca and Julia Calculli, Jordan, Nicholas, Daniel Cantin. Also surviving is his brother Giovanni and numerous nephews and nieces in Argentina. He was predeceased by his parents Luigi and Clorinda, wife Nincolina and brother Camillo. Joe was born on February 22, 1923, in Guilmi, Province of Chieti, Italy. In 1968 he immigrated to Canada settling in Winnipeg with his wife and daughter. He worked as a track repairman with the CNR for over 20 years. During his retirement years his pastime was gardening, taking care of his family and grandchildren. Also every few years Joe and Nincolina enjoyed trips back to Italy. Most of all he enjoyed making his wine. He had a terrific sense of humour and made new friends wherever he went. Nono will be missed, we love you Dad. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Morham, Dr. Kristjanson, nurse Brenda and all the staff of Jocelyn House. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 19 at 10:00 a.m. also in Holy Rosary Church. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley Street. Active pallbearers will be: Jason Calculli, Peter Slupski, Joe Lizzi, Brian Cantin, Chico Marteneau, Fabio Fiore. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or Lung Association of Manitoba, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6.
