He will be truly missed by his wife Ethel (Capner) of 44 years; sons, Melvin (Joanne), Henry; daughters, Tena (Brad), Denise (Danny), Michelle (Jeff); seven grandsons, Terry (Alica), Shane (Tessa), Chad (Sam), Miles (Angela), Dustin, Dyllon and Jayden; granddaughters, Keianna, Angie; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kristina, Essence; three foster grandchildren, Mark, Dakota and Lane; and a daughter at heart Melinda (Duane) and family; sisters, Elsie (Gary), Lena (Peter); brothers, Glen, Russell (Joyce); sister-in-law Esther (Bill); brothers-in-law, Arthur (Barb), Donnie Franklin and one uncle Lawrence Monkman. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Eva; his mother and father-in-law Adrienne and Henry Capner; along with many other loved ones. When Dad retired from the CN in 1987 due to illness, he continued to enjoy spending time with his family and friends. He liked reading and watching westerns. He always looked forward to going camping every summer. In his final years he spoke less and listened more, just enjoying the presence of his family. A celebration of Arthur's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Service will conclude at the hall with cremation to follow. Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons. Arthur's family wishes to thank Dr. Burnett and the staff at the Eriksdale Hospital and all of his homecare workers. He will be truly missed. We are comforted knowing he is free from pain at last. Rest in peace Dad. Arrangements by: Arnason Funeral Home Ashern-Lundar (204) 768-2072 1-866-323-3593
