STEVE KUZYK 1922 - 2008 Peacefully with family by his side, on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at the Beausejour Health Centre, Steve passed to eternal life at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted and loving wife of 55 years, Louise (nee Lefko); sons, Leonard (Brenda) of Stonewall, MB, Dennis (Brenda) of Great Falls, MB, and Richard (Diane) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Tamara (Michael), Brett, Tyler, Adam (Keri), Jessica, Terryn, Meagan and Samantha; great-grandchildren Lucas and Evan; as well as many brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Dad was born on September 28, 1922 in Hazelridge, the seventh child into what was to become a family of 15 children, nine boys and six girls. Being a farm boy, he learned at a young age the value of working and playing hard. He would often reminisce about his days of playing baseball as a kid after doing chores and walking to school and back. Sports were always his passion. He loved his Leafs and Blue Jays, and in his latter years, he got interested in curling, a sport he never really knew much about. Family was always the number one priority for our Dad, and is what kept him on the farm. The farm was always home and he cherished the times that his brothers and sisters and us kids would come home for a visit and sit and share stories of days gone by. Dad was so happy when we all got married. He welcomed our wives into the family as though they were his own daughters. He lived for his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He didn't have to say much, but the smile on his face when they were around told it all. Steve was predeceased by his parents, John and Kathryn; brothers, Henry, Nick, Anton, Mike, Peter, Harry and sisters, Stella and Jennie. The family wishes to thank Dr. Zeiler and all the wonderful staff at Beausejour Health Centre for their compassion and making Steve's final days peaceful and comfortable. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery. Prayers will be sung on Sunday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. also at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beausejour District Health Centre, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
