LILLIAN MAY CAMERON (nee JOHNSON) At Oakview Place on Saturday, November 15, 2008 after a declining struggle with Alzheimer's, Lillian (Lill) passed away at the age of 82. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Walter, twin brother Trueman Johnson sister Elinor Martens and brother-in-law Frank Martens. She leaves to mourn her daughter Tannis Deer, her son Blair Cameron (Susan), her dearest grandchildren, Morrie (Justin), Jonathan, Matthew and Jennifer and her great- grandchildren Katie and Addison. Also left to remember her with love are her sister-in-law Hilma (Mike) Johnson, and her niece Shannon Geary as well as many nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her close friend and neighbour Cherie Bunce. Lillian was born in Portage La Prairie on July 1, 1926. Lillian attended East Curtis School in Newton Siding, MB. She married Walter Cameron in 1949. Lillian and Walter began raising their family on Trent Ave. in East Kildonan and moved to St. James in 1969 where Lillian remained until 2006 upon moving into a personal care home. Lillian most enjoyed her summers at the cottage for over 30 years in Matlock, MB on the beaches of San Susie and Bubbling Well. She loved The Cottage . She was an independent, strong, and most generous woman who was cherished by all extended family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed. Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff at Oakview Place. A celebration of Lillian's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, if desired donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald, Winnipeg, MB.
