ALLAN (nee BAKER) Beverley Edith Allan (nee Baker) passed away peacefully November 13, 2008 at age 74. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James, four children, Mary, Douglas, Barbara and Jennifer, and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew and Brendan. Beverley is predeceased by her parents, Howard and Edith Baker (nee Corbett), her sister Doris Baker and brother, Roy Baker. Beverley had two commitments in life, first was her family and second was her profession. She was a graduate of the Winnipeg General Hospital Registered Nursing program. When Beverley retired from active nursing in 1991, she began teaching health care aides in Kenora, Ontario. She also developed a similar program and taught health care workers in Nova Scotia. Beverley, throughout her life, had volunteered her time to many other activities such as being a Girl Guide Commissionaire in Winnipeg, a candy striper, a member of St. John's Ambulance and Lady Stick during her time at St. John's College. Beverley was a voracious reader as the local librarians will attest. Memorial services will be held at All Saints Church November 22 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
