Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET ELIZABETH SWANSON (nee GOODMAN) October 28, 1921 - November 18, 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on November 18, 2008 at Selkirk General Hospital. She leaves to mourn her children, J. Brian (Dorothy) Swanson, Robert L. (Stacey) Swanson and Maureen (Lyle) Olson. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, Sherry (Mike) MacVicar, Tammy (Jamie) Kotowich, Jim Swanson, Eric (Angela) Swanson, Sandra (Caleb) Reykdal, Janice (Mike) Cherlet and John Olson and her great -grandchildren, Josh and Katie MacVicar, Brandon and Alysha Kotowich, and Ben Cherlet. Also left to miss her are her sisters, Lucy Martin, Helga (Victor) Magnusson, Arlene Feyereisen, sister-in-law Pat Goodman, brother-in-law, Sandy Partridge, step-brother Roy Thorarinson and many special friends and relatives. Violet was predeceased by her loving husband John; her brother Alvin; sisters, Blanche and Margaret. Violet was born and raised in East Selkirk, met and married John Swanson in 1947, and moved to their farm in Cloverdale where she raised her family. She resided in her home until her hospital stay. A kind and loving person, Violet touched the hearts of everyone who came to know her. She will be sadly missed. A special thank you to Dr. Zoppa, Dr. Lindenschmidt and all the nurses and staff of Selkirk General Hospital. Their exceptional care and support has been greatly appreciated. By Violet's request, there will be immediate cremation and no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Violet's memory to Selkirk General Hospital or the charity of your choice.
