PHILIPPE HOGUE Peacefully, on November 17, 2008 with his family by his side, Philippe joined his wife and daughter at heaven's door. Dad was born June 5, 1921 at the Hogue homestead along the La Salle River. He was a hard worker, farming in the Sanford area while working at Canada Cement, CN Rail, and finally Versatile where he retired after 22 years in 1986. In January of 1947, he married the love of his life, Bernice Rosenthal. Through this union they had five children. The love and support he gave his wife, all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was immeasurable. Dad set a solid foundation for his family and his legacy of honesty, hard work, patience, respect and a little bit of teasing will continue on with them all. Dad and Mom spent many wonderful years at their trailer (The Shack) in St. Malo. Their door was always open for family and friends for many Boxing Days, horseshoe tournaments or just a typical weekend party. Their acts of kindness will leave many people with wonderful memories. Left to mourn are his four children, Gerald (Karen), Bobby, Suzie (Claude), Michelle (Willie); 10 grandchildren, Steven (Kristi), Russell (Lori), Jamie (Krissie), Justin, Megan (Steve), Matthew, Bernadette, Jordan, Luke, Troy; three great-granddaughters, Sarah, Kaylee, Aiden; brother Denis; sisters, Mary and Germaine, and many nephews, nieces and close friends. Philippe was predeceased by his wife Bernice, daughter Bernadette, father and mother, Louis and Adelina, seven brothers and one sister. Many heartfelt thanks to the staff at Golden Links Lodge for their excellent care of Dad over the last two years. Prayers will be held Friday, November 21, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. A celebration of Philippe's life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at St. Hyacinthe Parish in La Salle, Manitoba at 11:00 a.m. with viewing prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road. And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too long, And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love we once shared. Miss me - but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, And each must go alone, It's all part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me - but let me go. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
