ILEEN MAIR It is with sadness that we announce Ileen Mair's passing on Sunday, November 16, 2008. She passed peacefully from this life into the hands of our Lord, at the age of 96, no longer in pain. Mourning her loss is her nephew Rodney Mair (Debbie Lenhardt Mair) and their children, Sarah and Megan, niece Brenda and her family and sister-in-law Beatrice Mair. She was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and James Mair, as well as her siblings, Viola and Ross. Ileen was born on November 29, 1911, in Hamiota, Manitoba. As a little girl she enjoyed her life on the farm and moved to Winnipeg at age eight with her family. She proudly graduated Grade 12 from Daniel McIntyre. As an adult she was employed by the John Deer Company and City Bread as a stenographer. She always had a passion for learning new things and had many hobbies. She was especially proud of her home and relished driving the cars she purchased over the years. Ileen travelled all over North America and was a very independent woman, nothing stood in her way. She had many friends, however, Ileen outlived them all. For all of Ileen's life she was a devoted Christian to her Church, Broadway First Baptist. She was active in many capacities and helped with several projects over the years. Up until the end, almost making her 97th birthday, she enjoyed good health and living life her way. We are grateful for those who enriched her life, visited her and cared for her in her final days.
