VICTOR REIMER Peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Bethania Personal Care Home just short of his 86th birthday our beloved father, husband and grandfather passed into the hands of his Lord. Victor is survived by his wife of 60 years Helen (Toews); children: Shannon (Ron) Maltby of Winnipeg; Valeria (Lonnie) Kruger of Ramsey, Minnesota; and Bradley (Deb) Reimer of Fannystelle. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Aaron Kruger of Becker, Minnesota; Shane Maltby of Winnipeg; Drew Maltby of Adelaide, Australia; Adam Reimer, Anna Reimer and Elyse Reimer of Winnipeg. He also leaves behind sisters Tina (Joe) Semenick of Pine River, Marian Nightengale of Winnipeg, Lorna Ross of Toronto and brother-in-law Bernie Doerksen of Steinbach. He was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Doerksen and brothers-in-law Mort Ross and Ed Nightengale. He is also remembered by many nieces and nephews who were dear to him. Vic was born in Steinbach in 1922 and lived in Winnipeg; North Bay, ON; Hamilton, ON and Windsor, ON before retiring in Winnipeg in 1989. He had a variety of work experiences which included Manitoba Sugar Company, Mutual Life, Jordan Wines, Canadian Tire and for a period of time, owned his own business. He was a long time member of the Lions Club both in Windsor and Winnipeg and a strong supporter of the Mennonite Central Committee. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB. Our family would like to thank the staff at Bethania for the care and compassion given.
