Dolly was born and raised in Kenora, Ont. and moved to Winnipeg in her early 20s. Dolly began working at Eaton's Mail Order, where she continued to work until it closed in 1976. Dolly then began working for the Canadian Wheat Board until she retired in 1987. Dolly was very close to her family and friends. She enjoyed baking and all kinds of handicrafts like sewing, needlepoint, knitting and crocheting. Dolly was rarely found at home and enjoyed taking in all the shopping and entertainment events the City had to offer. In recent years Dolly enjoyed the friendships she made with the other residents in her apartment complex and in particular the members of the Parkside Seniors Social Club. Dolly actively participated in the events offered by the Social Club. Words can not begin to express how much Dolly and her family appreciated the love and support of her friend Marion. Without Marion, Dolly would not have been able to live at home during the past many months. Dolly very much valued her independence. The family would also like to thank the Palliative Care Program and in particular her nurse Ann for her compassion and support. Thanks also to niece Lea for her support and lunch-time visits. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on the corner of Donald and Graham, Donald Street entrance. Rev. Merv Lanctot officiating.
