DELLA ROSE PHILLIPS (KAMINS) January 24, 1924 - November 16, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Della Rose Phillips at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna (Garth Lancaster) and Heather (Dave Sullivan); sons, Todd Phillips and Slade Phillips (Shelly); grandsons, Tyler, Michael and Eric Lancaster and Sandy Sullivan; granddaughters, Brittany and Jamie Phillips; sisters, Vina, Marjorie (Edward) and Jean; brother Norman (Rose) and numerous nieces and nephews. Della was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1963; parents, Roy and Pauline Kamins; in-laws, John and Dora Phillips; brothers, Bill and Art; sisters, Elsie and Eileen; sisters-in-law, Jean and Delphine Kamins; brothers-in-law, Jim Light, Glen Hemphill, Bill Zaharia and John Kowal; nephew David Kamins and niece Jackie Anderson. Mom's great sense of humour endeared her to everyone she met. She enjoyed many weekends with family at the lake, which would always include a game of cards and kibitzing around. She was an avid reader and always had a meal on her table if you were hungry. In her later years, Mom enjoyed going to the local casinos and dreamed of the day she would visit Las Vegas, which never came to be. The family would like to thank the staff at Luther Personal Care Home for the care they provided. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff on the 5th floor Unit 5 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for their excellent care and thoughtfulness. In accordance with Mom's wishes, cremation and a private family service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
