His brothers and sisters-in-law, Marcel and Yolande, Leon and Lea, Richard and Laurence, Lorraine and Rita, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. Elie was born in Ste. Agathe, Manitoba on September 14, 1924. While stationed in England during the Second World War he met and married his dearly beloved Anne. When the war ended, he returned to Canada to forge a new life with his wife. He started working with Winnipeg Transit, from there he took on various sales positions. He later worked for Champagne construction and worked building basements. Elie partnered with Phil Noiseaux and managed a Mobile Feed Service. Their success led them to buy several feed lots and eventually building chicken barns in Ste. Agathe, then expanding to Morris which they latter sold to Canada Packers Ltd. Elie then formed Elie Dorge Salvage in which he bought and sold various salvaged goods. During this time he worked with underwriters and recovered grain from derailed railcars and burning elevators which took him right across the prairies. Throughout the years, he was an active member and held executive positions in the ANAF Ste. Agathe Unit, Knights of Columbus and the Ste. Agathe Cultural and Community Centre. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards with his family and going fishing with his brothers-in-law. During his retirement years, he received much enjoyment from working in his yard, gardening and watching different birds visiting his many feeders. As his health deteriorated, he was so appreciative of his family, friends, care workers, nurses and specialists who would spend time with him. He always had something to give back with his light hearted attitude and cheerful disposition. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Tower 7, doctors, nurses, and care workers, and volunteers at Deer Lodge Centre, for helping to create a home away from home for Dad. Dad really appreciated the warm and tender care he received there. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Paroisse de Ste-Agathe, Ste. Agathe, MB on Tuesday November 25 at 3:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the Mass. Père Alphonse Bongo Celebrant. Reception for family and friends will be held at the Ste. Agathe Cultural and Community Centre following the interment at Cimetière de Ste-Agathe, Ste. Agathe, MB. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Society.
