Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN MCKENZIE YOUNG May 23, 1934 November 19, 2008 It is with sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend John. His eight year struggle with Alzheimer's is now over and he can now be at peace and rest with his mother Ellen and father John. John peacefully left this world with his hands held by family and under the loving care of the wonderful staff at Deer Lodge Centre. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Susy, son Bill, daughter-in-law Christine, wife Pat, grand-children: Anthony, Karrin, Amber and Matt, great-grandchildren: Daniel, Joshua, Andrew and Clair, and his dear sweet friend Angeline. His loving sister Gladys, her husband Ed, and children Ray, Janice, and Doug will also mourn his passing and cherish the special memories of his sense of humour and love of life. The family would like to extend a kind and loving thank you to the nurses, doctors and care workers of Deer Lodge Centre for the gentle loving care they extended to John during the final three years of his life. Their professionalism, love and caring made it so much easier for the family to feel secure in knowing that John was in very good hands. Thank you for assisting John in a peaceful passing to the Lord our God. Rest in peace John knowing that your memory will live on in your children and in the memories and hearts of all your friends and family. We love you. The service will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home at 669 Broadway at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 with Rev. Barb Janes officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery. Please kindly send donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba in tribute to the care and friendship received by John by these wonderful people.
