STEVE KOWALCHUK Peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2008 at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, Dad passed away with his family at his side at the age of 92. Dad is survived by his loving wife Mary, daughter Janet (Carl); sons, Ron (Karen) and Ken (Sandra); five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by sisters, Kay, Jessie and Nellie and brother William. Dad was predeceased by his father Alex; mother Anna; sisters, Mary, Stella and Jean and brothers, John, Nick, Mike, Pete and Harry. Dad was born in Polson, March 29, 1916. He married Mary in 1945. Later he moved to the farm near Inwood, where he farmed most of his life until retiring to Teulon in 1986. Dad still loved the farm and went to the farm regularly to help out. He loved to hunt and tell deer hunting stories. In his retirement his favorite activity was cutting fire wood. Only Dad could cut every piece to exact length and pile it so neatly. Cutting wood was an activity Dad enjoyed until this last spring. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Teulon Hospital for their excellent care. Prayers will be said on Monday, November 24 at 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Komarno, MB. Pallbearers will be Brent Derkatch, Sheldon Derkatch, Michelle Kowalchuk, John Chrapchynski, Ed Chrapchynski and Clement Hryciw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
