LAWRENCE O. FREETH It is with deep sadness that the family wishes to announce the death of Lawrence O. Freeth (Lawrie) on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the age of 75. Lawrie was predeceased by his father Leonard, his mother Mary (nee Gault), his older brother Len (Ellen), sister Maureen Hall (Ray). He leaves to mourn his passing his son Glen (Dawn), his daughter Lori Joseph (Darryll), brother Fred (Helen), twin sister Sheilagh Bremner (Hughie), his best friend Geraldine Purvis, grandson Ryan Freeth (Sandra), granddaughter Karla Cameron, grandson Stephen Joseph, grandson Michael Joseph, and his former wife June Freeth. He was employed for many years at Canadian Pacific Railway in the Winnipeg yard office. Lawrie was a cub master at St. Mary Magdalene Church's 21st Cub Pack. He was a longtime member of King Edward Lodge and served as worshipful master on two occasions, also a member of Scottish Rite and Khartum Shrine Temple's Director's Staff. When he was younger he enjoyed taking long fishing trips in the camper that he built on the back of his truck. Later he enjoyed learning aboriginal cultures from his many friends that he met while residing at Quest Inn. Memorial service to be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Donald Street and Graham Avenue, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, Rev. Canon Henry Falconer officiating. The family wishes to thank head nurse Marina and the 4th floor staff of Poseidon Care Centre and Dave and the home care staff at Quest Inn for the wonderful care given to Lawrie. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, the Humane Society, or a charity of your choice in memory of Lawrie.
