Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRITA MCKENZIE (nee MONKMAN) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rita McKenzie on Saturday, November 22, 2008. Rita was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1980 and also her longtime companion Willard in 1999; as well as her brother Norman in 2000. Rita is survived by her children who she loved dearly, Arthur Monkman (Lori), Rhonda (Trevor) McMahon, Lisa (Frank) McKenzie, and Colleen (Dennis) Bell; grandchildren Matthew, Kaitlin, Lexi, Rebecca and her two special little men Zachary and Isaac; sisters Mary (Ed) Chuhai and Thelma Hourie; brothers Murdoch (Mary) Monkman, Gordon (Ann) Monkman and Lloyd Monkman; sisters-in-law Jean (Gordon) Still and Kitty McKenzie; brother-in-law Jens Magnusson; extended family Doug (Lucy), Stewart (Sherrie), Gerry, Cameron (Linda) Massey and Barb (Kevin) Dunmore; also her special friend Laverne Longbottom and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. G.R. Fuchs and nurses of the surgical ward at Selkirk and District General Hospital for the great care and comfort given to mom. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation, Box 1943, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
