GUDJON (JOHN) ABRAHAMSON February 11, 1923 - November 23, 2008 John passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23 with his loving wife and family by his side. Left to miss him are his wife Terry; daughters, Wanda (Rick), Pat (Don), Diane (Barry) and son John (Nancy); sister Emmy, of Portage la Prairie and brother-in-law Thor, of Arborg; 13 grandchildren, Shannon (Harold), Scott (Cara), Jeff, Jill, Laura (Ian), Alison (Darryl), Jenelle, Dustin (Dani), Calvin, Bailey, Brendan, Carly (Kevin) and Daniel; seven great-grandchildren, Myles, Drew, Cameron, Hayden, Molly, Danielle and Owen, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ida; his brother Leo; sisters, Gudrun and Johanna; and brothers-in-law, Irvin and Paul. John was born and raised in Framnes, near Arborg, and we celebrated 58 years of his marriage to Terry on November 4 of this year. He worked 41 years with the Florist Supply Company, and we thank them for their very generous flower donations. John was an active lifetime member of ANAF #283. John's favourite times were spent surrounded by as much family as possible, but in addition, his passions included bowling, bingo, crib, golf and being Santa Claus, bringing smiles to hundreds of faces each Christmas. We want to thank Dr. Boyd, Dr. Li, Major Gordon Jarvis, Colette, Nancy and all the staff of Grace Hospital for making John and the family comfortable during our stay there. A memorial service will be held at the ANAF #283, 3584 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, Friday, November 28 at 1:00 p.m. John was cremated and will be placed with his parents and siblings near Arborg on Saturday, again, with his family at this side. John was a great supporter of the Christmas Cheer Board and we know he would appreciate donations made to the Christmas Cheer Board in his memory. After all, he will always be Santa .
