ELIZABETH JOHNSEN (nee BAKER) It is with sorrow we announce the passing of Betty Johnsen. After a life well lived and with her children by her side Betty passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the age of 88. Betty will be sadly missed by her family - sister Pam (Ken), her children; Russel (Sally), Jennifer (Kevin) and Brian; her grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Dylan, Lily and Charmaine and many close extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, sister Bar and brother Phil. Born in Winnipeg, Betty grew up in Elmwood and enjoyed wonderful memories of her childhood. After marriage Betty and Henry moved to Charleswood and raised their family in the house she continued to live in until the age of 88. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. As a working woman throughout her life she brought high standards and excellence to her work. Mom has a wonderful sense of humour that will be missed by all who knew her. Mom left us the good example of enjoying life's moments. She paid attention to and took pleasure in the simple joys of life. A special thanks to her devoted caregiver and friend Elma. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Betty's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
