LOIS SMITH Lois was born under wide prairie skies near Kenton, Manitoba, in 1906 to Orrie and Will Clendening. She had three brothers Alvin, Vincent and Bobs. For a great education they attended a one room school. After some poor crops the Clendenings moved to Winnipeg, renting a home on Corydon. Lois's first job was at the T. Eaton Company, working in the millinery. At a dance she met a young Scot Jack Murray. They married and moved to Pilgrim Ave. Surrounded by wonderful neighbours they lived there for 40 years. After Jack's death, Lois wed Hank Smith. They both enjoyed travel and happy times at their St. James home. After Hank's death, Lois moved to Lion's Manor and new friends. She enjoyed a great view of Winnipeg from the 11th floor for 10 years. It was time to move again, this time to the Misericordia Place, where Lois resided for eight years. Fun in abundance! And what a wonderful, caring and knowledgeable staff. On Sunday, November 23, she quietly left this world for her heavenly home. Thanks be to God for His many blessings. Lois leaves behind her daughter Barbara Patton and husband George Patton; grand- children, Bill Farquhar and wife Diane, Ryan Patton, Jill Patton and partner Firoze Mohammed; great-grandchildren, Wade, Wesley, Jessica and Cullen; and great-great-grand- children, Nathanyal and Isabella. A celebration of Lois's life will be held at the Thomson Funeral Home on December 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
