Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER CHRISTOPHER MARK ZAMRYKUT Peter Christopher Mark Zamrykut died suddenly on November 22, 2008 at the age of 19 from injuries sustained in a car rollover. Peter was born on May 1, 1989 in Dauphin, MB, son of Mercil and Donna (Pearce) Zamrykut. Peter attended school at Smith Jackson, Mackenzie, and the DRCSS. He was quick witted and smart and he could have been anything he wanted to be. Right from an early age, he loved to fix things, he could often be found in Power mechanics class giving Mr. Kachkowski a hard time. To him, this was school, learning how to take apart a motor or transmission and putting it all back together. When Peter was 10 he got a pet beagle that he named Lucky. He was supposed to be the family pet, but Peter always considered him as his dog. In September of this year after discovering that Lucky had diabetes and was quickly fading, Peter made the decision to have him put to sleep. Then he and Mike drove to the family farm, got the tractor, dug a great big hole, and buried Lucky under a great big rock which he had spray painted gold and placed at the entrance to the farm. His first job was at Chicken Chef. After a short time there he decided that cooking wasn't for him and he moved on to Timberfab, then Coop Gas station. His love of vehicles took him to Forman Ford as parts Counter Person, then off to Parkland Yamaha as a Service Technician and next to Drilling in Oxbow where the big money could be made. Unfortunately, with the big money came the hard work and he soon returned back to Parkland Yamaha where he could do what he loved doing, fixing quads and snow machines. Peter was a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Dauphin Fire Department. The training he received as a firefighter was immensely gratifying. The firefighting team worked together, saving people and he was proud to be a part of it. The beeper would sound and away he would go, fast as lightning. We used to tease him that this was the only time that he moved fast because Peter was normally a slow and steady kind of guy. It was his big heart, crooked smile and gentle kindness that brought him many close friends. He loved helping people. He was like a big brother to many and could often be called upon for advice. If in doubt, call Peter, he was always there for everyone. On Facebook, there are a few sites set up in memory of Peter. Many people signed up on this site and lots of people posted multiple heartfelt feelings about him. He loved hunting and fishing, quading, snowmobiling, and spending time at the family farm with his Baba and Uncle David. He never missed a chance to take Baba to bingo. They shared a special bond that only Baba and Peter could share. He experimented with life and conquered almost everything he tried to do. He drove the quad through the deepest mud puddle, 4X4ed through the biggest snow bank, and almost made it, but not quite. Peter never missed a chance to go snowmobiling either. He and his friends went on numerous Poker Derbies throughout the Parkland, no matter what the temperature. Peter was predeceased by his Gigi Peter Zamrykut, whom he was named after, and his Grandmother Minnie Pearce. Peter is survived by his parents, Mercil and Donna Zamrykut, Brother Shaun and his wife Ruhamah and her children, Gabriella and Aileena, and also Shaun's precious daughter Celeste. Brother Bobby and his special friend Ember Kutcher, Sister Crystal and her special friend Ryan Lintick and Brother Michael. Also surviving are his Baba Eva Zamrykut. Uncles and Aunts Boris and Joan Zamrykut, David Zamrykut, Elaine Zamrykut and Danny Timmerman, Frank and Liz Pearce, Ron and Jennifer Pearce, Lorne Pearce, Roy Pearce. Cousins: Shawn Zamrykut, April Davis and Kayla Zamrykut, Amber and Dylan Timmerman, Jim and Frank Pearce, Glen and Scott Pearce, Kim Krolikowski, Brandy Horn, and Ashley Pearce and many more extended family members. His godparents were Ron Pearce and Elaine Zamrykut. Peter will also be missed by his special friend Jenna Pasternak and his many close friends. Prayers for Peter were offered on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. from the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin. Funeral service for Peter was held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. from the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection. The Right Reverend Msgr. Michael Buyachok and the Reverend Father Oleg Bodnarski officiated. Interment followed in the Horyn Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Shaun, Bobby, and Michael Zamrykut, Ryan Lintick, Matt Syrnyk and Brent Hancharyk. All of his many friends may consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. In memory of Peter Zamrykut donations can be made to the Dauphin Fire Department because that is where his heart was. Sneath Strilchuk Funeral Services were in care of arrangements.
