HENRY (CHESTER) BRIAND February 15, 1928 - November 20, 2008 It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Henry on Thursday, November 20, 2008, after an extended period suffering with Alzheimer's; he will be sadly missed. Remaining to forever cherish Henry's memory are his loving wife and family who were by his side throughout his illness. He was predeceased by his parents William and Martha (nee Dixon) as well as numerous brothers and sisters. A private family ceremony took place Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jack and Vivian Ingham for all their support and kindness. Thank you to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and Charleswood Care Home. Donations may be made in Henry's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. We searched for you today, but no matter where we looked we just couldn't find you. It brought back fears of the past few years when you would go missing for hours, unable to remember where you were. Once again we feared for your safety. Then reality set in and we were reminded of that tragic day we found out the Lord called you home. This dreadful disease that first robbed you of your mind then your body, has now robbed me of my friend, my Husband, my children's Father, their children's grandfather, their children's great-grandfather. No longer are we able to share a visit nor a simple smile with you. Now we are left with an emptiness that can never be filled. The only comfort we have is knowing that your pain and suffering have ended. You will forever live on in our memories and in our hearts. You are no longer with us, but you will never be forgotten. Farewell - we miss you.
