NELSON (JIM) IRWIN It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Grace Hospital, with his family by his side, after a short battle with cancer. Jim is survived by his children; Phyllis (John), Edith (Mike), Philip (Trish), Pat (Tim), 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren as well as siblings; Bob, Jean (Mike), Betty (Ken). Jim was predeceased by his wife Doreen and sister-in-law Vi. Jim was born on October 24, 1926 in Belmont Manitoba. He worked at Mager's Auto Service for 40 years and retired to Lac du Bonnet and remained there for the last 14 years. There he was an active member of the Pioneer Club and was involved with numerous functions. He enjoyed his passion of fishing with family, friends and grandchildren. Jim always looked forward to the annual trip to Grand Rapids to fish. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Viewing will take place one-half hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be, Nick Ortynski, Gord Ortynski, Donald Hanton, Kelvin Pugh, Denis Boboski, and Eryaton Hall. Interment and reception will follow. Family would like to thank the nurses on the 4th Floor at Grace Hospital for their care. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Jim's memory to CancerCare MB.
