MARY DERKSEN (nee THIESSEN) 1923 - 2008 With family by her side, Mary passed away peacefully on November 26, 2008 at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home. She was born in Bergfeld on April 21, 1923 to Abram and Maria Thiessen. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Elvira and Brian Schellenberg (Kleefeld), Trevor and Cathy, Kevin and Alanne, Steven; son, Ron and Anne (Winnipeg), Marcia and Duane, Robyn and Kevin, Corinna and Julio; daughter, Janice and Randy McDonnold (Omaha, Nebraska), Tiffany and Stephen, Danica and Jason; son, Tom and Gloria (St. Adolphe), Jocelyn and Kevin, Jessica; son, Eldon and Bernice (Winnipeg), Kristine and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen (Winnipeg) and Kay (Cobourg, ON) and four brothers, Henry (Altona), Neil, Frank and Ben (Winnipeg). She was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry, her parents and five brothers. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Meadowood Manor for their wonderful care. The funeral service will be on Sunday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne's Rd., St. Vital. Viewing will be on Saturday, November 29 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Meadowood Manor Chapel, 577 St. Anne's Rd. in St. Vital and prior to the service.
