BRIAN (UNC) (BIG BRIAN) LAKUSTA
Date of Passing: Nov 27, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN (UNC) (BIG BRIAN) LAKUSTA After a long battle with cancer, my Unc finally passed on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 8:28 p.m. at age 46, with his family by his side to comfort him. He was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Stella and Alec, as well as his Siblings Louie and Dolly who I am sure were there to welcome him. He is survived by his two Sisters, Judy and Rae (John), his Nieces and Nephew, Cindy, Tracy, Lori and Eric. His adopted Nieces Claudia, Mandy and Norma. And Shauna, who he loved to tell how to cook his food just right. There are also numerous Cousins and family who were also in his heart. And me, Angel, and my Daughter Allexella, his first Niece and first Great-niece to whom he was like a Father to both of us for all of our lives. Those who knew him know that he had two families. And both were equally important to him. The second was his Sals family. I do not know you all, but Barry, Rudy, Brad, Rodney, Peter, Frank, Theo, Brandy, Eileen to name a few were the light of his life. The stories of being at Sals, and going to Bucks, and getting tires for this person, and helping that one, and giving this one a ride, and sneaking to Foody Goody without me are all things he loved and that's what made people love him. The new light in his life that I am so proud and relieved that he found before he passed was love. His friend Jan brought him happiness as a gentleman, where I had always thought of him as a big kid. And I want to thank her for showing him the love and attention that everyone deserves at least once in life, and I only wish it had been lifelong, as she made him so happy. I would like to thank Wes, Linda and The Ladies on 8A Paliative Care at the St. Boniface Hospital for all of their care and attention and tolerance of our attempt at happiness most of the time. We tried to shed a little sunlight on that floor. Friends are welcome to share memories at the Celebration of Life that will be held at his favorite watering hole, the Salisbury House on Henderson Highway, Wednesday December 3, 2008 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Donations made to Cancer Care or to the Palliative Ward at St. Boniface would be thoughtful.
