Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE SCHROEDER Suddenly on November 27, 2008 Anne Schroeder took her last breath here on earth and entered her eternal rest. She leaves to mourn her husband of 61 years, Cornelius P. Schroeder, daughter Carol (Walt) Unrau, sons Ed (Lisa), Alvin (Ethel), Willie (Lori) and Rob (Karen), 17 grandchildren and their spouses, and seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Peter (Velma) Martens, sisters Helen (Abe) Wiens and Victoria Martens, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Jacob and sister Tina. Anne was born January 31, 1924 to Jacob and Anna Martens in Blumenort, Sagradovka, Russia. After immigrating to Canada in 1925, growing up in Manitoba and Alberta, she married Cornelius Schroeder in 1947, raised her family in Elm Creek on the family farm and retired to Winnipeg in 1986. Being a devout Christian, she lived a life of faith with integrity, giving selflessly to her family and friends. She lived well, loved unconditionally and was loved in return. She will be greatly missed. Viewing will be held at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., Winnipeg on Monday, December 1 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Portage Ave. MB Church, 1420 Portage Avenue on Tuesday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment will take place at Elm Creek prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
