Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHYEMAN (SCOTTY) BARLIN On Monday, December 1, 2008 in his 92nd year after a decades-long battle with Parkinsons Disease. Beloved husband of the late Zelda (Goretsky) Barlin for 63 years. Loving father and father-in-law of Sharron and Sheldon Fruitman, Laurie and Mark Rosenfield, Arlene Barlin-Daniels, Elly Barlin-Daniels and Peter Daniels, and Zev Daniels. Dear brother of Gertrude (Betty) Corrin and the late Nathan Barlin, Doris Gales, Anne Scherr, Lewis Barlin, and Oscar Barlin. Adored Zaidy of Courtney and Michael, Deborah and Michael, Paul, Jonathan, Alexander, Arthur, Daniel, Anthony and Lauren, Chloe, Aliya, Michal (Mica), Olivia, and Lily. Devoted great-grandfather of Zachary, Maya, Gillian, Michael, and Aaron. Pharmacy Graduate of the University of Manitoba. Served in the RCAF in the Second World War. Following discharge, he returned to Winnipeg and operated the College Drugstore. Moved to Toronto and commenced a 25 year career with Eli Lilly. Moved back to Winnipeg to serve as President of Beacon Hill Lodges of Canada. Founder of the Canadian Long Term Care Association. Pivotal in founding Winnipeg's first Reform congregation, Temple Shalom. Following his retirement, he renewed his pharmacy licence and once again worked in drug stores in Winnipeg. A renaissance man, his proudest accomplishment was being a devoted husband and father. A special thank you to Ruth, Evelyn, Rosalinda, Helen, Nora, and Cynthia. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (3 lights west of Dufferin) for service on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Temple Sinai section of Pardes Shalom Cemetery.
