Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLARRY SMUKOWICH July 23, 1934 December 1, 2008 Peacefully, at home on Monday, December 1, 2008 with his family at his side, Larry passed over to be with his parents, relatives and dear friends. Larry will always be loved and remembered by his wife of 51 years of marriage, Barb (nee Welch); sons, Greg (Kathy), Kevin (Rhea), Scott (Cheryl) and Todd (Kim); grandchildren Holly, Kara, Jenna, Jeremy, Nicole, Jamie-Lynn, Adam, Troy, Andrew and Jaclyn will carry the memory of their Grampa in their hearts forever. Born and raised in Avonlea, Saskatchewan, Larry began his career in the financial industry at the Bank of Nova Scotia, moving to Canadian Acceptance Corp. In 1980 Larry moved to the Credit Union system to launch an agriculturally based finance company AgriFinance which he led to his retirement in 2000. The main focus of Larry's life was family. His love of his children and grandchildren knew no bounds. From summers at the cottage to Christmas at Twain Drive, he made life a fun place for all. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6 at 12:30 p.m. in Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H., presiding. Larry's remains will be taken to their final resting place in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Many thanks to the dedicated and caring staff of the St. Boniface Hospital. A special thanks to our angels Dr. Rezlerova (Dr. Rez) and Leslie of the PD unit.
