They shared 37 years together until his passing on August 22, 1981. Jessie worked in Gimli for the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1964 as a civilian employee and ended in 1971. She then managed Aspen lodge until it shutdown in 1987. Jessie enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends, going to the lake was one of her most favorite places. She was independent, practical and caring. She spent endless hours with her grandchildren on the farm keeping boxes of old toys for us to play with, also taking us fishing off of the dock in Gimli. She always enjoyed cooking for large groups especially around Christmas and Thanksgiving. Jessie touched all our hearts through our lifetime and will remain in our hearts forever. Special thanks to Gimli Hospital paramedics, nursing staff and Steve Gilbert of the RCMP.
