ILEEN HAYES August 21, 1924 - December 2, 2008 It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of (Catherine) Ileen Hayes beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother on December 2, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 84. Ileen fought a brief, courageous battle with cancer and was lovingly surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Ileen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Irwin Hayes, daughters, Sharon (Glen) Walker, Kim (Ward) McVey, sons, Tim (Dianna) Hayes, Kevin (Carmen) Hayes. Her many grand and great-grandchildren, Donna (Chris) Prescott son Devyn, Michele Walker, Cindy (Wolfe) Masters daughters, Ashley, Madison - Tamara, Sean McVey - Dale (Danielle Gauthier), Bonnie (son Ty), James Hayes - Josh, Emily, Ian Hayes who will miss her dearly. A celebration of Ileen's life will be held on Monday, December 8 at 1:30 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West. All are welcome to attend. The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to both Seven Oaks Hospital 4th floor Unit 5 and St. Boniface Hospital Palliative 8th floor Unit 8A Doctors and Nurses for the attentive care provided to Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ileen's name to Palliative Care Unit 8A St. Boniface Hospital or Winnipeg Children's Hospital. Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road and the Sun has set for me; I want no rites in a gloom-filled room; why Cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with Your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone. It's part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart go to the friends you know, and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.
