JOAN ELIZABETH HARRIS (nee HILL) 1922 - 2008 Passed away peacefully in Parksville, BC on December l, 2008. Born in Abergavenny, Wales, at the age of three she immigrated to Winnipeg with her family, where she married, raised her children and was a devoted member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church. In 2002 she moved to Parksville to live with her daughter. Joan fully enjoyed her last six years with all the dogs, ice cream at the ocean and visits by family and friends. Joan was predeceased by her husband Joseph; parents, Rowland and Celia; brothers, Alfie, Eddie, Derek and Dennis; sisters, Grace, Ivy and Vera. Wonderful memories of Joan will always be shared by daughters, Sharon (Peter / Caroline, Connor and Ethan, Shawna, and Krystal), Dale (Joseph / Jody), Bonnie (Lisa / Mike, Andrew and Ava, Sara / Ryan) and son-in-law Ron. Brother Bernard (Dora), sister-in-law Alice, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends will miss her kindness. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2009, Mom's favourite season. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Darcy's A.R.C. (Animal Rescue Centre), 730B Century St., Winnipeg, MB R3H 0M1.
