Rudy and my Dad - Stan Goodman, were best friends growing up and as adults. Dad moved us from Winnipeg to Vancouver in the early 60's, but we usually vacationed in Winnipeg/Gimli every year or 2. We always stopped by the pharmacy to say hello. My Dad and Mom (Alice) met at Rudy's and were married a few years later. Rudy had a smile, that, when he directed to me, I felt all was right in the world and even at my young age of under 10, I knew that was a good thing. - Posted by: Peter Goodman (life long friend) on: Dec 05, 2020

As a child I hung out at Rudy's lunch bar and read his comics, when I wasn't next door at the Macs. I think I got a ride in his convertible, which was always sitting over at the garage across the street gleaming and ready to go. In our small neighborhood Rudy's was one of the anchors. Always an interesting place to go, have fun and feel safe. - Posted by: Roy (knew him as a child) on: Sep 06, 2014

I found this page googling Rudy's name to see what had happened to him. My grandmother was his cousin, but I think all the members of my family here in the UK who remembered him directly predeceased him. I spoke to him about the family history in 2007; he was the last member of my family to bear the Goldman surname. I'm touched to find that though he died four years ago, his memory lives on here for people like me to learn a little more about him. - Posted by: Michael Grant (First cousin twice removed downwards) on: Nov 07, 2012
