OLIVE EMMA FIRMAN (nee BOUNDY) On December 4, 2008 Olive Emma Firman passed away peacefully at the Tudor House Personal Care Home. Olive was predeceased by her husband Steven, parents John and Alice Boundy, sisters Edith and Margaret, brothers John, George and Frank. Mom will be greatly missed by her sons Terry (Mary) and Ken, grandchildren Nicholas and Tanya (Jason) and sister Doris Gibson, many nephews and nieces and her dear friends Olga, Lauga and Betty. Olive was born January 14, 1915 and raised in Ledwyn. At 15 she left home to work in various places in Southern Manitoba. She returned home in 1943 and married Steve in 1944. Together they farmed in the Bjarmi area until Steve's untimely death in 1955. While raising her two sons Olive worked hard and overcame the many challenges she faced. She eventually settled in Arborg and played an active role in the community. She served in the M.F.A., Women's Institute, Federal and Provincial PC party, and for over 50 years was a member of the Arborg Legion Ladies Auxiliary, on the Executive several times, culminating in her being made a Life Member. Olive's long life was blessed with the devotion of her son Ken who was a constant companion and support to her. The family would like to thank the staff of the Tudor House Personal Care Home for their caring compassion during this past month. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arborg Community Hall with Pastor Bruce Zinken officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
