RUSSEL WAYNE MCLEOD (WAYNE) December 28, 1940 - December 6, 2008 After a long battle with cancer, Wayne passed away with his family by his side and the sun shinning down on his face. Wayne is survived by his wife Penny of 46 years, daughter Wendy (Mike), son David (Amy), grandchildren Ryan (Whitney), Amanda (Kurtis), Riley, Matt and great granddaughters Brooklyn and Taylor, mother-in-law Grace, sister-in-law Lori (Rod), also many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Russ, sister Marlene and brother Gord. Wayne was born and raised in Winnipeg and moved to Pinawa to work at AECL in 1967, retiring in 1995. He was a man of few words, volunteered as a hockey coach, loved to do wood working and took pride in his yard. He loved to golf and in the earlier years, loved to go camping. The family would like to thank all of Wayne's family and friends that have shown their love and support during our time of need. Many thanks as well to Dr. Van Gend and Dr. Spence and the nurses of Cancer Care in Pinawa and nursing staff at Pinawa Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be given to Cancer Care at Pinawa Hospital.
