Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABRAM (ABE) DYCK Abe Dyck passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on December 7, 2008 at the age of 83. Abe was born October 17, 1925 in Lowe Farm, Manitoba. He was very proud of his long service in the Canadian Armed Forces. From June 1944 until June 1946 he served in the Canadian Infantry Corps, the Lake Superior Regiment and the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. In 1951 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served until his retirement as a Warrant Officer in 1971. He then worked at the Department of Transport until his retirement in 1987. Abe devoted much time and effort in his retirement years to exhaustive genealogical work on both his and Helen's family and enjoyed immensely making many new acquaintances along the way. Abe is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen; and their four children, Chuck (Kathy), Sue (Helmut), Heather (Brent) and Pat (Debbie); as well as four grandchildren, Brandon, Daniel, Shaylyn and Kelton. He was sadly predeceased by one daughter Judy. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Thank you to Homecare, Dakota House and St. Boniface 4E staff for the support and kindness they showed our father.
